About Us
The Remathau Children's Culture Program (RCCP) was established in July of 2006 by Jermy Uowolo, Amanda Uowolo and Alicia Cristobal. Classes are held every other Saturday morning from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Uowolo residence.
The culture program provides culturally based, educational activities for the entire family. Through the participation of parents and elders, children are exposed to various aspects of their culture, including language, crafts, traditional skills, and customs. Children are encouraged to dress in traditional attire and converse in Haselmathau during the class. Individual classes focus on a central cultural topic taught in Haselmathau, invove a craft or art activity, and close with traditional song and dance. After class, the children enjoy healthy snacks and playtime.
